A Highfield Park Wedding – Hampshire
We spent this day with the sweetest couple; Tina and Robert. It was such an honour to finally capture their beautiful day after it had been pushed back a year due to the pandemic. Finally getting to watch these two get married was such an amazing moment. The fact they had to wait an additional year made it even more special and it was worth the wait!
The day they got married was a mix of beautiful sunshine and torrential rain. We shared a funny moment during the couple portraits, where we headed out in beautiful sunshine. I was concentrating on getting the perfect shots for Tina and Rob when John whispered in my ear, “We may want to think about heading back”. With that, I looked up to see a huge, black cloud coming in. The light rain started, and we made a run for it. Just as we were 2 metres from dry land, the heavens opened and one of their guests came running out to protect Tina and her stunning dress with a pram cover! It was the funniest moment and I just wish I was able to catch it on camera, but they were under my coat being protected from the torrential downpour. We all rolled about laughing about how lucky we were to make it back just in the nick of time.
It was such a fun day and so nice to see family and friends being able to mix and enjoy being together after so long. I loved the Scottish touches that came from Rob’s side of the family. All the men wore green tartan kilts, which tied in beautifully with the emerald green dresses the bridesmaids wore. The weather in the evening dried up and we were able to get out and capture some beautiful golden hour portraits. It really was the best day.
